The Old Lady and I split the day today, as the spawn began their inexplicable two-days-before-spring-break-break. At one point, Mr. Z and I decided to create a comic together by alternating frames until it was finished. We came up with "Cheez Man & Vic vs. General Pea & His Angry Pea Warriors, Pt. I."
I could do a million of these with him. It was a blast.

That is a great way to spend time together. Times like that are what the children will remember when they are adults. Despite the crabby exterior, you're all right ;)
Building a story together... yes-anding each other's ideas... moving the story forward with each panel... that's improv. In a few years we should get our kids together on the children's community theatre improv comedy circuit.
I was immediately reminded of you:

Very cool. I can't wait to see what happens next. Maybe when you're all done, you can put the completed story on display at Caesarland?
And that sprinklebrigade thing is one of the best things I've ever seen.
"The Pantry!"
that was lovely. I want to go draw with my dad now too!
I think that's how Crumb and Pekar got started.
Excellent! All my dreams will come true if Mr. Z turns out like Crumb. I guess I don't have to worry until our comics start featuring headless, big-buzzoomed women with knee-high boots. Or when he starts asking the girls on the playground to give him piggy-back rides.
